Sean is a new breed of documentary filmmaker. Born on Vimeo where he honed the craft of the documentary short, Sean amassed over a million online hits for his film The Archive, a story about one man's waning career as the curator of the world's largest collection of vinyl records, before the short even went to Sundance. Sean's talent for capturing the stories of some very unique characters led him to direct the shorts Man in Van, about a guy taking on the world on his own terms, The Bowler, a celebration of booze, broads and bowling, Straw Dawg, about an underground country music legend, and American Juggalo, a visually stunning study of the often mocked and misunderstood subculture of the Juggalos, hardcore Insane Clown Posse fans. Sean moves into documentary features with Oxyana, an exploration of a once-thriving coal mining community now struggling with the scourge of Oxycontin. The film is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. On the commercial side, Sean captures characters in a distinct visual style that lends intimacy to his stories. His work includes spots for Bank of America, Chase, Google+, The Sundance Channel, Microsoft, and Nike. |
