Paul Crowder, a transplanted Brit, is a former musician-turned-Editor and Director. Paul began his career as a drummer recording and touring with his band, The Adventures, before turning his talents toward television and film in the US. First as an editor on VH1's "Behind the Music" and then on to editing the acclaimed Sundance documentaries Dogtown and Z-Boys and Riding Giants, directed by Stacy Peralta. Paul's musical influences are easy to see in both those films. Next up, Paul moved into the director's chair with Amazing Journey: The Story of the Who, featuring some great after-all-these-years interviews with Roger Daltry and Pete Townshend. The film premiered concurrently in theaters on two continents and on VH1 live as a global event. Paul's Once in a Lifetime for ESPN, chronicled the rise and fall of the 70s New York Cosmos soccer team and star player, Pelé. Paul's latest documentary, Last Play at Shea, brings Paul's musical roots full circle. Premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, the film charts the ups and downs of the New York Mets, Shea Stadium and the life and career of Long Island native Billy Joel. Paul is currently wrapping his next film: the definitive documentary of Formula One Grand Prix Motor Racing. |
